arrogant enemies

Of course, you would never knowingly entertain arrogant enemies in your natural house. So, why do you, being a spiritual house, put up with arrogant spiritual enemies who continually try to overlord your soul?

Spirit, soul, body overview

As you know, you are a spirit with a soul housed in a body.

Think of it like this. Your body is the house. Inside the house are three main rooms. Mind, will, and emotions. Together these rooms comprise your personality or soul.

mind will emotions

Then, right in the center of your home is a power center – called spirit. And inside your spirit is the Spirit of God.

Now, when everything in your house works as it should, the Spirit fills your home with light. God-life, energy, and love flow in you and through you.

The problem: arrogant enemies

The problem is arrogant enemies are always looking to enter your house, and disturb the peace.

A good example is Jerusalem (peaceful habitation) in 701 BC. Hezekiah was king. He worked to turn the children of Israel from idolatry back to God. The Living Bible says he “worked very hard to encourage respect for the Temple, the law, and godly living, and was very successful” (2 Chron 31:21).

After he set the house of God in order, Hezekiah went out to Judah’s cities and broke down all the pagan pillars, images, and altars.

But, then:

After Hezekiah’s faithful deeds, King Sennacherib of Assyria came and entered Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities and intended to break into them. (2 Chron 32:1)

The enemy did not like Hezekiah’s faithful deeds. He does not like yours either.

God deals with arrogant enemies.

But God can crush the plans of the most arrogant enemies in less than a nanosecond.

King Sennacherib dared to boast that no god or nation had defeated him or any former king of Assyria. Read Isaiah 37:36-38 to see how God dealt with this smug king and his army.

So, don’t worry, fear, or doubt. The Lord always has the last word!

Three things you must always do

Fill your mind with the Revelation of Jesus Christ. By the way, remember the book of Revelation’s central theme is the eternal Christ’s unveiling. Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He is the Lord God Omnipotent who reigns now and forever. (Rev 1:8, 18, 19:6).

So read and listen to God’s Word every day. The more you apply the Word to your life, the healthier you will become.

Cast down ungodly thoughts. Censor what you watch and listen to at all times. Never allow your mind to linger on anything that opposes the knowledge of Christ (2 Cor 10:3-5).

Always magnify the Lord. Do not magnify circumstances. They are temporary and can change any minute.

Finally, remember this:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Rom 8:28)
