You must strengthen and protect your inner man
The most important thing you can do in these perilous times is to strengthen and protect your inner man. How? Read the book of Ephesians, again and again. Memorize it if you can!
Ephesians is one of the most important letters to the Church. Even if it were to stand alone, it is more than enough to help you live free and stay victorious.
How to strengthen and protect your inner man
Know who you are in Christ.
First, chapters 1-3 reveal our spiritual ID, position, possessions, and power in Christ. This revelation is essential training and goes a long way to strengthen and protect your inner man.
Live consistent with your new spiritual reality.
Then, chapters 4-6 tell us how to live consistent with our new spiritual reality. We discover how to walk worthy of the calling—in right attitudes, unity, love, light, and wisdom.
Our calling is high, holy, heavenly. It is achievable when we live moment-by-moment filled with and led by the Holy Spirit. In the final analysis, the produce of one’s life should be as weighty as one’s confession of faith. We have great gifts. We need more exceptional character.
Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power.
Finally, Ephesians 6:10-18 reveals when empowered in the Lord’s strength, equipped with all the armor God provides, we can stand firm and victorious against every strategy, scheme, and mind game of the devil.
Put on the whole armor of God to strengthen and protect your inner man.
So, here is what you need to do:
- Stand your ground, then, with GOD’S TRUTH fastened around your waist. The eternal Spirit of Truth reveals and confirms God’s Word. The Spirit and the Word will protect you from lies, deception, hypocrisy, and the strategies of the evil one.
- Put on GOD’s RIGHTEOUSNESS, who is Christ, as your breastplate. Christ gives you righteousness or right-standing with God.
“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Cor 5:21, NLT
- Wrap your feet tightly with the GOSPEL OF PEACE. The good news is: You have double peace—peace with God and the supernatural peace of God.
- Hold out above all the SHIELD OF FAITH. To strengthen and protect your inner man, live by the faith of the Son of God. See Gal 2:20.
- Take the HELMET OF SALVATION. Keep a sound mind through the knowledge that you already have eternal life, deliverance, preservation, safety, soundness, healing, wholeness, completeness in, by, and through Christ.
- Take the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, the Spirit-anointed Word of God . . . praying, decreeing, declaring.
- Pray in every season all manner of prayer in the Spirit. Your heart-felt, Spirit-anointed prayers have the power to change everything.
Finally, Ephesians begins and ends with “Grace” and “Peace.” May these be your constant companions as you continually strengthen and protect your inner man with God’s armor especially designed for your success, because He loves you everlastingly.

This is so needed for this hour. If we don’t know who we are in Christ we aren’t able to walk through our lives with any sense of power through Christ working in us!! Thank you Cap for such a wonderful word in season!

Going to play the audio version of Ephesians
and listen to it over and over again!
Oh, yeah, I forgot I have an audio version. Yet, even though I have taught on the book of Ephesians a few times, each time I read it I see something new. So, I will read it and listen to the audio. Thank you.
