Trust God, Subdue Kingdoms
By Capazin Thornton
I have written several blogs on having faith and trust in God. Yet, it wasn’t until recently that I received a fresh understanding of why it is impossible to please God without faith. (Heb 11:6). How can we please God if we don’t trust Him? How can He trust us if we don’t trust Him?
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…”—2 Chron 16:9
Simple faith and trust in God subdue kingdoms
In Hebrews 11, we see a salute to the children of Israel in the Old Covenant who through simple faith and trust in God:
- subdued kingdoms
- worked righteousness
- stopped the mouths of lions
- quenched the violence of fire
- escaped the edge of the sword
- out of weakness were made strong
- became valiant in battle
- turned to flight the armies of foreigners; and
- women received their dead raised to life again.
(See Heb 11:33-39)
These saints (Abraham, Joshua, Daniel, Shadrack, Meshach and Abedneggo, Gideon, Elijah, Elisha, David, and many others) did not have digital or hard copies of the Bible. They did not have CD’s or DVD’s. They did not have Christian books, television, motion pictures, the internet, or Social Media. They did not have the complete canon of Scripture. Yet they got their needs met and did mighty exploits.
Christ is our victory
Christ is our victory. The Bible says Christ has already conquered everything that conquered us. God has “delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Col 1:13).
Washed in the blood of Jesus, translated into God’s kingdom of light, blessed with every spiritual blessing in heaven, equipped with the whole armor of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus! (Rom 8:37)
Believe, speak and act like we trust God
It’s time to stop being the devil’s POW’s. It’s time to operate in God’s POWER. In covenant with God Almighty, we have Christ, God’s Word, and the Holy Spirit. Either we believe and trust God, or we don’t. If we believe God, let us speak and act like it! (2 Cor 4:13).
Do you trust God more today than when you first believed? Please feel free to post your comments.

Thank you Capazin! Enlightening and encouraging! I needed this today!
This is exactly what we need to hear right now! We must decide if we believe this or not. Then if we do decide to trust the Lord in all situations then don’t look to the left or the right but look up setting your face toward Him! We are living in times that God’s Word and His presence has to be more important to us than anything else in our lives.
