Tools to Build Faith and Hope for the Future
I am writing to those who may feel a bit overwhelmed and need a couple of tools to build their faith and hope for the future. First, I have a question for you:
Have you ever prepared for something, but when the day arrived to do what you got ready for, you lost it? You couldn’t even remember the basics!
I think of a funny scene in “I Love Lucy.” Lucy’s husband Ricky (real-life Desi Arnaz) and friends Fred and Ethel rehearse what everyone will do when it’s time for Lucy to give birth to her first child. But when the moment arrives for Lucy to go to the hospital, chaos ensues. They forgot everything they were supposed to do. Lucy Goes into Labor (This is it!)
I am so glad you asked that question. First, remember: God is in charge. The Lord God Omnipotent reigns. And you are complete in Him. (Rev 19:6; Col. 2:10)
And do not forget, you have access to the most excellent success book ever written. God’s Word is alive with God life! It is brimming full of miracle-working, life-giving, situation-changing power.
So, access these things and live by faith
“Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see.” (Heb 11:1, ERV)
Here is an acrostic to remember how to hope
I love teaching by way of acrostics. I take the letters in a word and spell out a message in short order. For instance, here is one of my acrostics on HOPE:
HAVE FAITH in God.
OPTIMIZE OPPORTUNITY.
PRESS ON with joy.
EXPECT the inevitable, supernatural intervention of God.
There, in less than 20 words, you have tools to keep hope alive.
Here is an acrostic to remember to live by faith
Here is my acrostic on faith. A few more words than used for hope, but it will help you.
FAITH over fear, doubt, unbelief.
AWE of God – Live in.
INSPIRED and INFUSED by the Spirit.
TRUST the Lord always.
HEART full of passion, praise, prayer to hear God better.
So, see, you already have everything you need to succeed. Christ is our hope, faith, and future. Stay anchored in Him.
And continue to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor 15:58).
