Reprobate Mind, Socialism & How to Tick Off God

 

Do you know people who seem entrenched in indefensible, illogical, and unsound mindsets? Consider that some might have a reprobate mind.

For instance, take people who are pro-socialist. Despite horrific historical outcomes, some people think socialism is the answer for the world today. No, friends, Christ is.

Of course, I can give you a lot of reasons why socialism will never work, including

1. socialism opposes God-given freedoms,
2. at its core is coercion and tyranny, and
3. no one has the right to lord over another person.

However, the real reason why socialism will never work is that socialism sprang from a reprobate mind: rotten seed, rotten fruit. So, socialism can never produce anything excellent and lasting.

What does the Bible say about a reprobate mind?

The Bible says that God leaves people who choose not to recognize Him in a state of mind called reprobate—worthless, unapproved, and rejected.

Since these people refused even to think about God, he let their useless minds rule over them. That’s why they do all sorts of nasty things. ~ Rom 1:28, CEV

Romans 1:29-31 describes people with a reprobate mind like this:

They are wicked, greedy, depraved, full of jealousy, murder, rivalry, deceit, strife, and viciousness; backbiters, slanderers, and God-haters, insolent, arrogant, braggarts, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents. They are foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless.

God-haters. That’s the biggie because socialism, at its core, is an atheistic, humanistic, God-hating ideology spawned from a reprobate mind.

A person with a reprobate mind is void of sound judgment.

When people turn their noses up at God, God gives them over to a reprobate mind.

As a result, such people believe lies, are delusional, and void of sound judgment. Sadly, most will not return to the path of reality they so arrogantly trample under foot. See 2 Thess 2:1-11 where many will be deceived by the Antichrist because they did not believe the truth.

Tell me, do you still think it does not matter what leaders believe? To God, it matters big time.

Five things a person with a reprobate mind does that tick God off

1. Deny God (Rom 1:20)
2. Don’t glorify God and are not thankful to Him (Rom 1:21)
3. Think they are smarter than God (Rom 1:22)
4. Change the glory of the glorious incorruptible eternal God into images (Rom 1:23)
5. Worship everything but God. (Rom 1:25)

Newsflash: God created the universe! How dare you, mere mortal, take it upon yourself to try to remake the world and its people in your image. Your plans for God’s earth and His people are beyond stupid. They will fail, just as they always have.

God’s wrath against all ungodliness and wickedness

From Heaven, God shows how angry he is with all the wicked and evil things that sinful people do to crush the truth. ~ Rom 1:18, CEV

God’s wrath abides on sinners. And God will punish all sin.

Yet, God’s greatest gift to everyone is His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and paid the penalty for all our sins. No more delay: receive Him now while you can.

For God so loves the world, that He has given His only begotten Son; that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ~ Jn 3:16

But if you’re wondering why some people never make any sense, consider by their words and deeds that they may have a reprobate mind—a mind not perceiving or approving what is good either in principle or practice.
