The Real Enemy

The Real Enemy Exposed
How many know the real enemy of man is the devil and his evil forces? These forces work around the clock to undermine, contradict, and discredit God. They work to distort the true image of God, to block our view of God, to break our God focus, to crowd out God’s voice.
The real enemy is a liar
The real enemy is a liar—the father (originator, source) of lies. There is not one iota of truth in him. Since the creation of man, the devil has lied about God so as to bind people up in sin, sickness, poverty, religion, ignorance, hate, pride, and evil of every kind. (Jn 8:44; Gen 3:1-7)
The real enemy is the thief
The real enemy is the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. (Jn 10:10) To steal means to take the prosperity or the rights of inheritance of others. The devil tries to steal our spiritual and natural inheritance, our wealth, health, marriage, and children. He tries to steal our victorious life in Christ.
The devil’s real goal is to steal God’s glory. That has always been his heart’s desire. (Ezek 28:12-19; Isa 14:12-17). He tries to steal God’s glory by keeping us distracted with so much nonsense and busyness that we fail to pray and meditate in God’s Word. The devil will use whoever and whatever he can to stop the kingdom of God from advancing.
The real enemy is a murderer
The real enemy is a murderer from the beginning of time. He is the source of pain, anger, and bitterness in the world that lead to suicides, murders and wars.
The devil’s goal is to kill as many people as he can before they can come to know Jesus Christ as Savior so they will be eternally lost. If he can’t kill us, he will try to deprive us of the God-quality life.
The real enemy is a destroyer
The real enemy seeks to destroy us, that is, to put us to death or subject us to total defeat. The devil works relentlessly to destroy relationships, kill visions and dreams, and destroy one’s life and witness for Christ.
The real enemy is limited
It is important to remember the devil is limited in person and power. He is not omnipresent, omnipotent or omniscient. He is merely one personality. He is a created angel fallen from grace. Like you and me, he can only be in one place at a time.
I know a lot of people think the devil pays them personal visits. However, the Bible reveals that Satan personally only showed up a few times in situations that greatly affected the destiny of all mankind.
Thank God Jesus Christ was manifested to set us free from the works of the devil. Through His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension back to Heaven Christ divested principalities and powers of their right to lord it over Christ believers. (1 Jn 3:8; Col 2:15)
The devil has an appointed judgment day
There is a day coming when the devil will face God’s judgment and be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity. (Rev 20:10)
