PACEMAKERS
By Capazin Thornton
I want to challenge you young people to do something extraordinary with your life. I want to challenge you to be 21st Century Pacemakers. A pacemaker is one who takes the lead, one who sets the example.
Pacemakers are Possibility Thinkers
Pacemakers are possibility thinkers. They believe NOTHING is impossible to conceive or achieve. Myles Munroe defined potential as “untapped strength, unused power, dormant ability, all you can be, but haven’t been yet, all you can do, but haven’t done. How far you can go, but haven’t gone.”
You have the potential to bring fresh attitudes, new perspective, clear insight, and real solutions to life’s problems.
In order to unlock and release your potential, you must break free from mindsets that limit you. You must believe that all things are possible. Truly, with God there is nothing you cannot do.
Pacemakers are Atmosphere Changers
You may have heard the expression, “Be a thermostat, not a thermometer.” A thermometer takes the temperature. A thermostat sets the temperature. Do not adjust to the tepid, lukewarm society in which we live. Use your creative imagination to be an atmosphere changer, even a world changer.
Pacemakers are Champions
A champion is a winner. You are a winner, not because of what you do, but because of who you are. Yet, true Champions do great things.
Let your conscience be your moral compass. Operate in integrity of heart no matter what anyone else is doing. Stand up for what is right, just and fair.
Pacemakers are Eternal Optimists
Be an eternal optimist. Wouldn’t you rather fail at something you believe you can do, than make no effort at all toward achieving something great?
Look for rays of sunshine through all the storms of life. Keep hope alive in your heart. Freely give hope to others.
