Key to Releasing God’s Glory and Favor: Rejoice

Jesus rejoices

The key to releasing God’s glory and favor in your life is to always rejoice in the Lord!

To rejoice is to feel or express joy or triumph – in good times and difficult times.

“Let the righteous be glad; Let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.” ~ Ps 68:3

Of a truth, when our praises go up, His glory comes down!

When Mary received God’s Word that she would conceive the Christ child by the power of the Holy Spirit, she didn’t say, “Oh me, oh my, what will the neighbors think?”

Mary immediately rejoiced, saying, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” Nine months later, she gave birth to the Savior of the world. Glory to God!

So, we who have received Jesus the Christ are in vital union with God. Think about the awesomeness of that! One’s spirit should always rejoice (joy repeatedly) and jump for joy in God, our Savior. And one’s soul should often and joyfully tell out the greatness of God.

Joy is already in your spirit.

Joy is part of the fruit of our recreated spirit. It is an exalted expression of love that leaps out in delight, gladness, success, and victory.

God created us to proclaim and show forth His excellent virtues. He made us to acclaim, applaud, boast about, congratulate, magnify, celebrate, and rejoice in the Lord. Indeed, He is “great” and exceedingly greatly to be praised.

God is our Savior. The spiritual kingdom of God (righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit) is inside us. And the spirit of triumph is inside us – so, shout for joy!

Rejoice in and through adversity.

“Although the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail and the fields yield no food, though the flock may be cut off from the field and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” ~ Hab 3:17-19

We may not find joy in the circumstances, but we can always find joy in the Lord.

Christians in the early church knew how to keep their joy in adversity. They knew how to rejoice in the Lord, our Savior.

The Sanhedrin Council had Peter and John beaten for preaching in the Name of Jesus. Instead of complaining and feeling sorry for themselves, they rejoiced that they were “counted worthy to suffer shame for His name” (Acts 5:40-41).

Paul and Silas were beaten and thrown in jail after casting out a spirit of divination from a young woman. They did not let that steal their joy. “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”

Their praise was powerfully triumphant because “Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!” (Acts 16:22-26)

The key to rejoice in the midnight hour is to start each day with praise.

From the rising of the sun, rejoice.

In the Old Testament, God prescribed an arrangement for the twelve tribes of Israel to encamp around the Tabernacle. The tribe of Judah (Judah means to celebrate or praise) was set up “on the east side toward the rising of the sun” (Num 2:3).

The sun rising in the East signifies a new day. Each day should begin with celebration, praise, thanksgiving, and rejoicing in the Lord.

Did you know that when you rejoice in the Lord, you create an atmosphere for miracles, improve health, and boost happiness?

Blessings of Rejoicing

So, stir up your joy, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Neh. 8:10)

Don’t deny challenges. Instead, keep your eyes on Jesus and keep moving forward. Remember that God is always faithful, and He makes all things beautiful in His time. (Eccl. 3:11)
