How to Stay Focused in World of Distractions

In a world full of distractions, it is essential that we stay focused on the things that matter.

When you keep the main thing the main thing, focus, clarity, and sharpness come.

3 Ways to Stay Focused

  1. Write the vision for your life.

When God speaks to you about your life and destiny, write it down. Make it clear so that you may read it, retain it in your memory, and run with it. A God-given vision will keep you focused and be a motivating force in your life.

  1. Guard your mind.

I know I say it a lot. Once again: You must censor what you watch and listen to if you want to protect your inner self. You cannot have a clear focus or keep inner peace if you allow violence, vitriol, and trivia to bombard your mind continually.

Guard your mind. Get rid of clutter. Change channels when programs assault your mind and disturb your peace. Roll your car window up if the car next to you is playing vile music. Tune out negative conversations.

Stay focused on the Lord. Isaiah 26:3 says God will keep you in perfect undisturbed peace when you keep your mind, purpose and creative imagination settled in faith in Him.

  1. Seek things above.

Things on earth are temporary. Here today, gone tomorrow. But things in heaven are eternal. Seek after, focus and meditate on eternal things. Read the Scriptures. Pray, listen and obey when God speaks to your heart.

Someone said, “Energy flows where attention goes.” Stay focused on your life’s vision, guard your mind, and seek eternal things. It will go well with you and you will have a stream of energy for things that really matter.
