How to Live in the Power of His Might

power of His might

Today I especially love the book of Ephesians. If you want to live in the power of His might, Ephesians reveals how.

The Preparation

First, in chapters 1, 2, and 3, we learn the incredible wealth of spiritual blessings, privileges, and resources we have in Christ. Here, we discover who we are, what we possess, and what we can do in, by, and through our resurrected Savior and Lord.

Walking the Talk

Then, Ephesians 4:1 urges us to walk worthy of the calling (4:1). What calling? Eternal glory. Therefore, our attitude, character, perspective, and manner of life should be consistent with the high destiny we have in Christ.

We should walk with all humility, and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Eph 4:2-3)

So, let us stay humble and be happy peace-makers and unity-keepers.

The Power of His Might in Unity

Remember, while there are multiplied thousands of church assemblies around the world, from God’s perspective, there is only one:

  1. body
  2. Spirit
  3. hope of your calling
  4. Lord
  5. faith
  6. baptism
  7. God and Father of all, who is above all, and in you all. (Eph 4:4-6)

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. (Ps 133:1)

Five Keys to Live in the Power of His Might

Finally, Ephesians 6:10 tells us to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Here is how.

  1. Have absolute confidence in the Lord.

Realize He is the Son of God, the Word made flesh, Savior, Alpha and Omega, Almighty, King of kings and Lord of Lords. He is the Lord God Omnipotent who reigns forever. God the Father has given Him all authority in heaven and earth. At His name, every knee shall bow. (Jn 20:31; 1:14; 4:14; Rev 1:8, 19:16, 6; Mt 28:20; Phil 2:9-11)

You can rest assured: No one will ever overrule, overpower, or overthrow Him.

  1. Rest secure in your union with Him.

The Holy Spirit immerses all believers into one body and unites us with Christ. And, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all principalities, powers, might, and dominion. (Eph 1:21; 2:6)

In Christ, we are secure.

  1. Be strengthened with might in the inner man by His Spirit.

The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. He will revive, enliven, and strengthen your spirit, soul, and body.

  1. Clothe yourself in the whole armor God provides.

Put on and keep on the whole armor of God. Fully clothed in the armor God provides, you can vigorously oppose, bravely resist, stand face-to-face against, and destroy the lies of the adversary.

Every day declare truth, righteousness, peace, and salvation. Take up and hold out over all the shield of faith to extinguish all the fiery missiles shot at you. Wield the sword of the Spirit—speak the Spirit-anointed Word applicable to the particular situation you face.

  1. Pray Spirit-anointed prayers.

Pray at all times with all kinds of prayer in the Spirit. Pray fresh. Stay fresh.

So, from here on out, let us live in the power of His might.
