How to Live Fear-Free

My hallmark scripture is 2 Timothy 1:7, for over 30 years. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” To me, this verse sums up how to live strong and fear-free.
How to Live Fear-Free
In 2 Timothy 1:7 fear means fearfulness, timidity, and cowardice (lack of courage), by implication faithlessness. It is a disposition of the mind that causes one to cave to people’s pressure and intimidation. God has not given us a spirit of fear.
The boldest people in the world should be those who know Christ, and who we are, what we have, and what we can do through Him. The key to being fear-free is to place one’s full confidence in the eternal Lord God omnipotent!
Live Fear-Free in the Spirit of Power
God has given us the Spirit of power. Power is translated from Greek dunamis, meaning inherent, built-in, indwelt, and miraculous.
Every believer has inherent power in the person of the Holy Spirit. When we cooperate with and rely on Him, He will produce strength and resilient character in us. He helps us to live as super-victors.
When we pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, we fortify our inner man. We become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit. And God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think, ask, or understand according to the power that works in us (Eph 3:20).
Walk in the Spirit of Love
God poured out His perfect love into our hearts. (Rom 5:5) We can pour out God’s love to others. Perfect love will throw fear right out the door. (1 Jn 4:18)
Keep a Sound Mind
A sound mind speaks of one that has embraced the new nature and is being renewed day-by-day in knowledge after the image of Christ. It is a victorious mind, saturated with humility and gratitude.

As Christ believers, you have the antidote for people caught up in a world full of bondage. In Christ you have power, love, and a sound mind. Therefore, live fear-free and be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
