How to Live and Operate in Superseding Faith
Simple faith will get your needs met, but you need superseding faith to live victoriously in the world today.
What is superseding faith? Is that in the Bible? Absolutely – on full display throughout.
To supersede means: overrule; set aside or cause to be set aside as void, useless, irrelevant, or obsolete. Every time we bring God’s Word and Spirit to bear in full assurance of faith, we overrule the devil. We open the door to Heaven’s assistance, and angels listen to the voice of God’s Word (Ps 103:20). If only believers would wholeheartedly believe these things!
Christ is our Victory
Before His crucifixion, Jesus said to His disciples: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
The root meaning of tribulation is “pressure.” The devil applies various pressures to get us to cave in or give up. Daniel prophesied the devil would work to wear out the saints (Dan 7:25).
But we have a choice. We can live like the winners we are through superseding faith in Christ. Or we can let a defeated enemy run roughshod over us.
Saints, the war has already been won. The Lord God Omnipotent has all authority in heaven and earth. And He has given us dominion over the devil, with armor, weapons, and angels to enforce victory.
Superseding Faith
Superseding faith is the outflow of knowing God through intimate fellowship and believing in, relying on, and trusting in His Word and Spirit. It means you fully believe and proclaim that:
1. God is far greater than anything He created.
2. He has given believers superior armor and weapons.
Satan’s weapons are carnal and common. Our weapons are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor 10:5). See also Ephesians 6:10-18.
3. Strategic spiritual warfare can turn the tide of natural wars.
In my blog last week, The Blood of Jesus is Redline for Victory, I wrote:
“God has given us authority in the Name of Jesus – the name above every name – over all the enemy’s ability. So, let’s use our delegated authority and targeted and tenacious prayer to turn the tide of this war in Ukraine’s favor.”
Now, we see this truth on display in Ukraine. It is not by accident the tide has turned in favor of Ukraine. Many worldwide have engaged in strategic spiritual warfare on behalf of Ukraine since the war began on February 24. And we will not let up because we have superseding faith.
While the Ukrainians need to control the skies over their country with defense weaponry, believers can fill the heavens with heartfelt praise, prayer, and thanksgiving. God inhabits the praises of His people.
YOU WIN. DON’T QUIT!
Realize YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR IN CHRIST JESUS. (Rom 8:37)
I hear God saying to Ukraine:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jere 29:11)
