How to Have Real Power in Life
By Capazin Thornton
Real power won’t work through you until it works in you.
While people still debate the baptism of the Holy Spirit, what it means to be filled with the Spirit, and speaking in spiritual languages, be assured of this: when you receive the MINISTRY of the Holy Spirit, you will have real POWER in your life.
Power in Life to be and do
“you shall receive POWER after the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me…” (Acts 1:8)
The evidence for real power is:
- A powerfully energized prayer life
- A bolder witness
- A greater love—for God, His Word, family, people in general!
- Supernatural operations and demonstrations of the Spirit
Is your life showing evidence of real power?
Disciplines for Real Power
The Holy Spirit is the power source. We yield to Him and cooperate through disciplines that will build up the inner man and render us more sensitive to His presence and working.
Pray in the Spirit
Build yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. (Jude 20)
Praying in the spirit means to pray in the spiritual realm with the Holy Spirit’s aid.
Praying in the Spirit will build up your inner man. You will find sufficient strength, inner resolve, joy, love, peace, and patience to face and respond to whatever may come your way.
For Real Power Believe and Say What God Says
Someone said, “God is breathing through the Scriptures, and the Scriptures are breathing out God.” Wow!
And, importantly, whatever God has promised in Christ is already done.
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Cor 1:20
So, simply take God at His Word and say what He says.
And, instead of saying, “Oh, God, it’s morning,” say, “Thank you, Lord, for a new day! Thank you for a day filled with loving kindness, tender mercies, and great possibilities.”
Thanksgiving will strengthen, and encourage you, so you can help others.
Praise the Lord
After conceiving the Christ child, the Virgin Mary said: “My soul does magnify the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my savior.”
The soul is supposed to magnify (enlarge) the Lord – His lordship – every day. One’s spirit is supposed to rejoice – literally, jump for joy – in the God of our salvation. Wow, again!
I sing praise songs in the shower, while dressing, and driving. My spiritual batteries are recharged. I am alert, energized, and ready for the day. Even if things don’t go smoothly, I am ready for the battle.

This was wonderful!! My pastor spoke on being baptized in the Holy Spirit this morning at church and I have heard others speaking on this!!
I believe as you have said Cap that that this is the best kept secret in Christianity! This is where our power comes from. As our prayer language is spoken it energizes us for whatever task the Lord has for us to accomplish that day! Thank you Cap!! Your spot on sis!!
