Stop People Under the Influence of Controlling Spirits from Controlling Your Life

Controlling spirits seek to lord over YOU. They work to overrule your free will. Do not let them. You are in control.

You may have heard the term controlling spirits but, honestly, do not know what they are or how they operate. Let us start with a simple definition. Control means to exercise restraining or directing influence over someone or something. It means to regulate, dominate, and rule over.

Self-control is desirable. Other people controlling your life and trying to force their will over yours is not.

And you can be sure the fundamental forces trying to control your life are evil spirits that have been here since the beginning of time. (Eph 6:12)

The Controlling Spirit of Jezebel

In ancient Israel, a treacherous, murderous, controlling woman named Jezebel married an evil king named Ahab. Their goal was to change Israel fundamentally. They worked to eliminate the worship of the true God and institute worship of false gods.

To that end, Jezebel killed God’s prophets, as many as she could find. She appointed 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Ashtoreth. She built shrines, pillars, and altars in the hills for people to worship her demon gods and offer them sacrifices, including their children. (See Jer 19:5)

But then God’s prophet Elijah (my God is Yahweh) stood up and challenged them. He called for a god contest, if you will, on Mount Carmel to demonstrate that Yahweh is God.

The false prophets called on Baal to send fire from heaven upon their altar from morning to evening. No response.

Afterward, Elijah built an altar to the Lord. He drenched it, the burnt sacrifice, and the wood with four large jars of water—three times. Elijah then prayed for God to send fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice.

The Lord sent a fire, which destroyed the burnt sacrifice, wood, stones, dust, and water. When all the people saw this, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord—He is God! Yes, the Lord is God!” (See 1 Ki 18:17-39, NLT)

Jezebel was thrown out a window and eaten by dogs. But the spirit of Jezebel is alive today. Washington, D.C. is full of people with controlling spirits who want to change America fundamentally.

Characteristics of a Controlling Spirit

There are four major characteristics of people under the influence of controlling spirits:

Domination. When it comes to conversation, people with a controlling spirit talk all the time, usually about themselves and their point of view. They are poor listeners.
Manipulation. Controllers control outcomes through emotional outbursts—shouting, expressing anger, and hostility.
Regulation. People with a controlling spirit are quick to judge, convict, condemn, censor, and diminish you and your beliefs. They use their influence to regulate the behavior of others to suit their agenda.
Intimidation. Controllers will use whatever means necessary to shut down prophetic voices.

Know that any person, leader, or political party that seeks to dominate and control your life is under the influence of age-old demonic controlling spirits.
