There are more teachings on faith truth than on any other subject. Yet, despite the vast repository of faith teachings, some people need help understanding what it means to live by faith.
Some pastors and teachers say faith is simply taking God at His Word. Others say that faith means to ‘trust and obey.’ Still others define faith according to its description in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
However, while all the above bear truth, knowing the One in whom we believe is the key to living by faith.
So, with that in mind, let’s examine faith truths that shine light on Him in whom we believe. And watch your trust soar!
Five Faith Truths That Rave About God
Faith Truth No. 1: God is Love and Always Loves You!
Let us always remember the central truth that underlies all that God does: God is Love! (1 Jn 4:8) This love, the very essence of God, is agápe (ah-ah’-pay).
Unlike any other love known to man, agápe is pure, sacrificial, merciful, unconditional, and spontaneous. The proof of God’s amazing love is this: “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
God loves you lavishly, tenaciously, immeasurably, and perpetually! Nothing can separate you from the love of God. And God’s thoughts towards you are uncountable and constant. (Rom 8:35; Ps 139:17) This is one of the greatest faith truths.
No. 2: Christ is our Victory!
Here are three faith truths to know about our Victory in Christ.
Jesus says, “I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
John says, “Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:5)
Christ conquered everything that conquered us. (Col 2:15)
No. 3: God Has Magnified His Word Above All His Name!
God is exceedingly great and exceedingly greatly to be praised!
His Name is excellent in all the earth, and His glory (renown) is above the heavens. (Ps 8:1)
Yet, God has magnified His Word above all His Name (Psalm 138:2). Therefore, If God said it, count on it! The Bible contains God’s answer to life’s questions. We must search the Scriptures and find them.
No. 4: All the Promises of God in Christ are Yes and Amen!
This faith truth promise is tremendous (2 Cor 1:20). It tells us that all the promises of God in Christ are Yes and Amen – surely true, verified, and certain. In Revelation 3:14, Christ is “the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness.”
Faith Truth No. 5: God is Faithful!
Throughout the ages, God, the Eternal, self-existing Creator of the universe, has shown Himself faithful, reliable, trustworthy, and true to His Word. The bottom-line faith truth is you can trust God with your life.
