Three Things Matter Most: Eternity, Integrity, Imprint
By Capazin Thornton
Resolve these three things, and your future will be amazing!
Eternity
The concept of time without end is hard to grasp. Yet, God has placed a sense of eternity in every person’s heart.
Everybody wants to live forever. It is a rare bird who does not. As tough as life gets, people want to keep living.
Many think death is the end of life. It is not. Physical death is merely separation of the spirit/soul from the body.
The Bible says:
“Your body came from the earth.
And when you die, it will return to the earth.
But your spirit came from God,
and when you die, it will return to him.”
— Ecclesiastes 12:7 (ERV)
The bad news: If you are not reconciled with God before you die, you will face judgment for sin and an eternity without Him.
The good news: To everyone who opens their heart, accepts, welcomes, receives Jesus Christ who paid the price for our sins, God gives the right, privilege and honor to become His child. He forgives us. He reconciles us to Himself. When we die, our spirit and soul will go to Heaven with Him.
Again, in order to be forgiven, rightly connected with God, and have eternal life with God, we must receive Jesus Christ before we die.
Many of you have already settled the matter. For those who have not, consider this. You could die today. Once you die, it will be too late to choose.
I implore you. Do not play the fool with your eternal destiny. Choose Christ now and live forever with God.
Integrity
Second, be a person of integrity. This means be of clean, clear, honest and honorable moral character.
We are all works in progress. We are all in different phases of construction. But, integrity will increase and prevail in your life when you:
- Decide that pleasing God is more important than anything else.
- Allow the Spirit of God and the Word of God to change you.
Integrity in your heart will overrule the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
When faced with difficult choices, people of integrity will do the right thing simply because it is the right thing.
Walk in integrity. You will please God. He will reward you. And you will leave a good legacy for your children.
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.”—Proverbs 20:7
Imprint
Finally, imprint your children with godly principles and wisdom. Identify and help them develop their gifts. Motivate them to pursue God’s will.
God appointed Abraham the father of many nations because He knew Abraham would command his children after him. He knew Abraham would introduce his children to God, train them to live right, and give them a prophetic charge concerning their destiny.
Don’t let the world have a greater influence on your children than you. You are their stewards.
