Having Confidence in Prayer

Three Keys to Having Confidence in Prayer
First John 5:13-15 reveals three keys to having confidence in prayer.
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 Jn 5:13-15)
Key No. 1 to Having Confidence in Prayer
The apostle John says this letter was written for the express purpose of assuring Christ believers we have eternal life. Eternal life is a present tense possession. When we have assurance in our hearts that we have eternal life, we can have confidence to freely approach God with our prayer requests. (1 Jn 3:21-22)
Key No. 2 to Having Confidence in Prayer
Continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Don’t ever stop believing in the Name of Jesus, the Son of the living God, whose name is above every name that is named! (Phil 2:9-11)
Key No. 3 to Having Confidence in Prayer
As God’s children, our confidence is reinforced by God’s promise that our prayers will be answered when we pray according to God’s will.
The Bible is God’s will. The New Covenant is Christ’s Last Will and Testament. God has preserved and given us His Will so that we may lay hold to what God has already given us in, by and through Christ.
Read and Know the Will (Covenant)
Every Scripture reveals something of the will of God. Finding God’s general will in a given situation is as simple as turning to the topical index in your Bible and looking up Scriptures under that topic.
God has given us an irrevocable covenant of great and precious promises. These promises are God’s will for us. It is through faith and patience (cheerful constant endurance) that we can inherit the promises of God. (Heb 6:12)
Having Confidence in Prayer is Easy
Having confidence in prayer is easy when (1) you realize you have eternal life as a present tense possession; (2) you continue to have confidence in the name of the Son of God; and (3) you pray according to the will (Word) of God.
Are you confident that God hears and answers your prayers? Please feel free to post your comments.
