5 Great Reasons to Pray God’s Powerful Word
There are many great reasons to pray God’s powerful Word over yourself and other people. Here are five.
God’s Word is Alive
“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]” (Heb 4:12, AMP)
Many books can stimulate our minds and creative imaginations and inspire and motivate us. However, there is only one book in the universe that has the power to raise the dead, to cause demons to flee, to convert a sinner’s heart, and to heal, deliver, and restore broken people. That book is the Bible, the written Word of God, the revealed will of God..
Inherent in God’s powerful Word is explosive, miracle-working, life giving, situation changing power. The Word is divine seed that can supersede any negative circumstance!
There is absolutely nothing too difficult for God to do or undo, “. . . For with God all things are possible” (Mk 10:27).
The Word of God has supernatural power to transform your life and those for whom you pray.
The Word of the King is Powerful
“Where the word of a king is, there is power.”—Eccl 8:4a
Christ is the “King of kings and Lord of lords.” Every believer is a king and priest to God. As priests, we can pray and offer thanks to God for all people. As kings, we can declare God’s Word, release the will of Heaven, and loose God’s ruling power into the situation at hand. (Rev 19:16; 1 Pet 2:9; Rev 1:5-6; Rev 5:10).
God’s Word Discharges and Advances Light
God is Light. (1 John 1:5) Every time His Word is spoken, light is discharged. Light advances, and darkness retreats.
The Word Sends Angels
“Bless the Lord you His angels who excel in strength, who do His Word, heeding the voice of His Word.”—Ps 103:20
When God’s powerful Word goes forth, angels minister on behalf of the heirs of salvation. (Heb 1:14)
The Word Releases Joy, Love, and Peace
When we declare the Word of God, especially Scriptures regarding the joy, love and peace of God, dynamic forces of life are released that have the power to lift oppression and bring positive change to those for whom we pray.
