Supernatural peace is needed in today’s world of increasing hostility.

One time I heard a story about an “A-list” actor who said, though he had great fame and everything money could buy, he did not have peace. I felt sad for him.

If I had a choice between having inner peace and winning a mega lottery, I would choose the former. That’s because I know inner peace is essential to real prosperity.

In fact, the Hebrew word for peace (shalom) covers every area of life. It includes health, security, tranquility, welfare, success, prosperity, wholeness, and comfort. So, to possess and live in shalom is to be richly blessed.

On the other hand, peace on earth (absence of strife, conflict, hostility, and war) has been elusive for most of human history.

History of Conflict

Out of thousands of years of recorded history, it is estimated less than 300 years have been without war. And, in the last 100 years, conflicts have increased.

Friends, the devil is the evil mastermind behind the conflicts. His modus operandi is to steal, kill, and destroy. As long as there is a devil, there will be conflicts and war.

The devil incites jealousy, greed, strife, contention, fear, hate, rage, and hostility. He then uses people filled with such to prey on, attack, steal from, kill, and destroy others. Only people under the vilest delusion believe they are doing God service by hurting or killing people God created.

Supernatural Peace and wisdom are needed

For change to come, we must realize and acquiesce to these truths:

• The problem is internal, not external—inner conflict is the fruit of sin and the root of conflict with others.
• If we want lasting peace, we must first be reconciled with God; and
• We need God’s supernatural peace and wisdom to operate in and deal with hostile people.

Supernatural Peace comes from God

The good news is supernatural peace is available and accessible. Ephesians 1:2 says: “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

This verse lets us know that peace comes when God is our Father, and Jesus Christ is our Lord. We are reconciled with God through the blood of His cross.

When we receive Christ into our heart by faith:

1. God forgives our sin
2. He gives us a new spirit
3. God implants seeds of His supernatural peace in our spirit

The result is internal security, tranquility, rest, and well-being. Having peace with God and the supernatural peace of God will bring stability to any soul.

Furthermore, grace (God’s righteousness and corresponding enablement) will help us through all of life’s challenges.

Hope for the future

We cannot change what has happened in the inglorious past of human history. But today is full of hope and promise.

Let us lay an ax to any strife in our own heart.  Shut the door to the malevolent influencer. Give him no place in thought, word, or deed.

As we operate in supernatural peace, we can get rid of hostility. Little by little, we can be the positive change we want to see.

Let the supernatural peace of God rule

So, shut the door to strife and contention. Let the supernatural peace of God direct, control, and rule your heart. And, if it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with everyone.
