How to Experience the Promise

experience promise

Believing God’s promise is one thing. Experiencing the promise is another.

There is a sequence of events that takes place every time you hear God’s Word on any subject. There are events that take place between hearing the promise and experiencing its fulfillment.

Pinpointing where you are in the sequence will help you determine what to do next to experience the promise.

How to Experience the Promise

Here is the sequence.

  1. The WORD comes.

You hear God’s Word. God’s word comes to you full of divinely explosive, miraculous power. The Word is designed to accomplish what God sent it to do.

  1. FAITH comes.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom 10:17). You believe God’s Word is true.

  1. SATAN comes.

The devil comes, bringing persecutions, troubles, evil solicitations, distractions, and pressure to distract you and try to get you to back off God’s Word. (Mk 4:15)

  1. PERSEVERANCE comes.

The force of perseverance is activated. Perseverance is persistency, endurance, steadfast courage through adversity or trouble.

*****************************************************************************************

Now, this is the pivotal point. You must hold fast to God’s Word and  your profession of faith in the Word, and persevere through all opposition to experience the promise.

*****************************************************************************************

Perseverance is a discipline of the soul (mind, will, emotions). It is a hang-in-there power. It is an “I will not be moved” power. And, it is having a cheerful attitude through it all.

The apostle James exhorts us:

“Consider it pure joy, my brethren, whenever you face trials of many kinds. Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”—Jas 1:2-4, NIV

The apostle Paul tells us to “glory in troubles.” You can glory in troubles when you understand that trouble activates the force of perseverance. Perseverance comes to undergird your faith.

Perseverance says, “Since you believed God’s promise, continue believing Him.” Hold fast to your confession of faith without wavering. God is faithful.

So, if you believe God for healing to manifest, keep believing. If you believe for a financial breakthrough, keep believing. Keep cheerfully pressing forward in faith. Because, with perseverance…

  1. EXPERIENCE comes.

If you let perseverance have her perfect work, you will experience what you have believed God for. You will be perfect (mature), entire (whole), wanting nothing!

  1. HOPE comes.

God has proven His faithfulness.  He came through for you this time. He will come through for you again and again.

Hope in God will anchor your soul and help you keep a confident expectation.

Friends, remember this sequence. It will help you pinpoint events and locate yourself every time you hear a promise from God and begin the journey to experience it.
