5 Ways to Stay Spiritually Strong
By Capazin Thornton
To stay spiritually strong requires knowledge, discipline and faith. Here are 5 ways to stay spiritually strong.
Stay Spiritually Strong
Study God’s Word Every Day to Stay Spiritually Strong
To stay spiritually strong, we must build a solid foundation in God’s Word. Read, study, memorize, and store up God’s Word in your heart every day. God’s words are “life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Prov 4:20-23; 2 Tim 2:15)
Affirm Your Spiritual Armor to Stay Spiritually Strong
God’s armor will protect your heart and mind against the deceit and lies of the devil. Daily affirming God’s armor will fortify your inner man, give you amazing confidence, and help you stay spiritually strong. (Eph 6:10-17)
Pray in the Spirit to Stay Spiritually Strong
Pray at all times with all kinds of prayer in the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit literally means to pray in the spiritual realm with the Holy Spirit’s aid. Praying in the Spirit will keep your prayers fresh, intimate, inspired and your spirit strong.
Thank and Praise God to Stay Spiritually Strong
Heartfelt rejoicing, praise and thanksgiving are sure-fire ways to bless God, shut down the operations of the enemy in our lives, and energize one’s day for Spirit-infused, joyous, victorious living.
Speak the Spirit Anointed Word to Stay Spiritually Strong
All scripture is God-breathed. The scriptures become powerfully alive when we speak them out in faith. (2 Tim 3:16; Heb 4:12)
In addition, the Holy Spirit will help us when we need a specific word from God right now. Maybe while witnessing to someone. Maybe while under spiritual attack. The Holy Spirit will remind us of specific scripture to bring to bear in the situation.
In my blog Patterns and Cycles, we saw that the devil assaulted Jesus’ soul with strategically designed temptations. Jesus responded by holding out the shield of faith and skillfully wielding the sword of the Spirit—the Holy Spirit inspired Word fitting the occasion. He completely destroyed the devil’s temptations.
One time a minister friend of mine got a medical report that he was going blind. The moment he told me I asked, “How can you go blind with the light of the world in you?” This was a divinely inspired response. It hit this man’s spirit like a light from heaven. And, he didn’t go blind.
Speak God’s Word as a matter of habit. Expect the Holy Spirit to remind you of the Word you need in any given situation.
