Empowered to Prosper, Overcome, and Be Victorious in Perilous Times

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.”— 2 Tim 3:1
We live in difficult times. Everybody knows that. But do you know that in Christ, you are empowered to prosper, OVERCOME, and BE VICTORIOUS in difficult times? So, you have the strength and the ability to conquer any challenge that comes your way.
Empowered to Prosper in Perilous Times
Perilous (Greek chalepos, khä-le-po’s) means dangerous, tricky to take, complex, fierce, furious, hazardous, treacherous. The only other time this word is used in the Greek New Testament is Matthew 8:28, where two demon-possessed men coming out of a graveyard are described as exceedingly fierce (violent).
We indeed live in fierce times among fierce people. Every day seems to bring a new crisis. President John F. Kennedy said, “When written in Chinese, the word ‘crisis’ is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.”
Yet we are empowered to prosper even in dangerous times.
Endless Possibilities and Opportunities
The fact is every day presents endless possibilities and opportunities for the people of God. No matter what crisis or difficulty we face, we have an excellent opportunity to pray and declare the greatness of God. And in so doing we encourage ourselves and help lift others out of despair.
In Christ we are more than conquerors. (Rom 8:37) Christ has conquered everything that conquered us!
God empowered us to prosper when He blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ. (Eph 1:3) We have a position of authority with Christ in the heavenly places far above all powers and circumstances. Thus, we are super victors, triumphantly victorious, overwhelmingly victorious.
Listen, I am telling you what has made a difference in my life. Every day I apply what I write and speak about. I rise, declare and decree victory every single day no matter what in the world is going on!
Steps to Prosper, Overcome, and Be Victorious
in Perilous Times
Let’s do this thing together. We know God has empowered us to prosper. So, let’s move toward experiencing an overwhelmingly victorious life. Here are the steps we can take:
- Always choose God’s eternal Word over temporary circumstances. Mix your faith with it. Act on it.
- Rely on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is your divine helper. He will give you supernatural and practical day-to-day help as Jesus did with the disciples.
- Take up and proclaim the whole armor of God. You are empowered to prosper through God’s armor covering your inner man. (Eph 6:13-17)
- Release light and glory from Heaven into your day. Thank and praise God for empowering us to prosper.
- Keep your eyes on Jesus. “Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.” —Col 3:1 (Msg)

Beloved, you were destined to live in such a time as this. God did not promise that fulfilling your destiny would be easy. He did promise to be with you always and help you by His grace to bear up under or against all opposition.
Through God’s Word, the enabling power of the Holy Spirit, the armor and weapons of God, you are empowered to prosper, overcome, and be victorious no matter what.
