The Established Heart
By Capazin Thornton
The established heart is one that is sure, steadfast, firm, secure, and faithful because of confidence in God and His Word.
The established heart realizes:
- God is in charge
- God loves me
- Every adverse circumstance is temporary
- God is working things out for my good.
The established heart realizes God is in charge…of everything
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. —Ps 24:1
The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all. —Ps 103:19
The established heart realizes God’s deep love
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. — Rom 8:38-39
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? — Rom 8:31-32
Say this: GOD is LOVE. God LOVES me. God loves ME!
The established heart realizes every adverse circumstance is temporary
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. —2 Cor 4:18
The established heart realizes God is working things out
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. —Rom 8:28
The established heart knows God hears the prayers of the righteous
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. —1Pet 3:12
The established heart is confident of God’s protection
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? —Ps 27:1
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him will I trust.” — Ps 91:2
I am kept by the power of God through faith. — 1 Pet 1:5
The established heart praises God at all times
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing and give praise. —Ps. 57:7
I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. —Ps 34:1
. . . [M]y soul magnifies the Lord. My spirit rejoices in God my Savior. —Lk 1:46-47
The established heart hopes on
The established heart hopes on when all natural hope is gone. Keep on hoping in God by faith. Have absolute trust and confidence in God’s integrity, power, wisdom, and goodness. Hold on to God’s promises. Let God’s Word anchor your soul.
