Years ago, I learned always to cover myself with the Blood of Jesus when engaging in intercessory prayer. One day last week, I failed to do that. Here is what happened.
First, let me say I generally pray whenever I wake up. Often that’s 1:00, 2:00, or 3:00 AM. For weeks, my focus has been to pray for President Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine. You might think, “So, what? Everybody is praying for Ukraine.”
Yes, but many people are merely playing checkers with God. They say, “God, please move. Help these people.” I have done that too.
However, I hear God saying to the Body of Christ, “It is your move. I have given My Son. All authority in Heaven and earth is His. And I have given you supernatural weapons to stop the enemy’s aggression. Use them.”
You see, Putin is a mere man, merely a front man at that. Egging him on are demonic spirits in the unseen realms of the heavenlies. The great news is that God has given us authority in the Name of Jesus – the Name that is above every name – over all the enemy’s ability. So, let’s use our delegated authority and targeted and tenacious prayer to turn the tide of this war in Ukraine’s favor.
So, let me tell you what happened the other day. Around 8:00 AM, I logged in to my work email. There was a rush filing on another paralegal’s project. She was not available to handle it. The deadline for filing everything was 10:00 AM.
Around 9:15 AM, I received eight documents in an email on a file I did not know. I had to figure out which documents to attach to which. Then, I had to optimize the documents, upload them to the attorney service website, and input information for electronic filing.
On top of all this, two attorneys called me no less than ten times (one ranting and raving) while I was trying to get things done under pressure. And then there were technical issues. Gracious Lord! We missed the deadline by minutes.
That afternoon, I realized something. My intercessory prayer earlier was connected to the verbal attack later. I had awakened early and started praying without proclaiming the blood of Jesus.
Further, I saw firsthand that demons are demons, whether principalities over regions or local earthbound cohorts. They are all evil, seeking only to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) But, importantly, all are subject to God’s Word, the Name of Jesus, and the Blood of Jesus.
The blood of Jesus is the permanent covenant bond between Christ believers and God. So, proclaim the blood of Jesus over your life and all those over whom you pray. Declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. (Isa 54:17)
The Blood of Jesus is the redline for victory in any situation. You can stop demonic forces every time you declare what the Word says about the Blood of Jesus-the redline for victory.
