How to Receive Your Healing and Live in Health
By Capazin Thornton
Do you know healing is part of salvation and belongs to you through Christ’s finished work on the cross? Healing is the children’s bread. (Mk 7:27)
Every year, we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Congregations often sing potent songs like Israel & New Breed’s “Risen.” The chorus rings out:
Risen, He’s risen,
Forever glorified
Risen, He’s risen,
King Jesus, King Jesus is alive.
And the bridge says:
Same power; same power
That crushed the enemy,
Same power; same power,
The same power lives in me.
That is the truth!
Yet, the week following Resurrection Sunday, we go back to praying for healing. There seems to be a disconnect between our songs and receiving the healing Jesus died to give us.
So, what is the key? Have faith in God and believe His Word.
What the Scriptures Say Regarding Healing
- Healing is provided in the redemptive work of Christ and is available to every believer.
He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him. And by His stripes, we are healed. ~ Isa 53:5
He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. ~ Mt. 8:17
Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. ~ 1 Pet 2:24
The prophet Isaiah declared seven hundred years before the cross: “And by His stripes we are healed.” Looking back to the cross, Peter said, “by whose stripes you were healed.”
Also, in the Old and New Testaments, salvation means the same. It includes forgiveness, deliverance, setting at liberty, safety, preservation, soundness, healing, wholeness, and prosperity. Healing means to cure, repair, and make thoroughly whole.
- The same Holy Spirit who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies. (Rom 8:11)
The same Holy Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in every Christ believer. He can and will revive, stimulate and revitalize your mortal body. Only believe and receive.
Receive Your Healing and Live in Health
Q: How do you experience healing?
A: Have faith in God. ~ Mark 11:22
- Believe that you were healed through Christ.
Jesus says, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” ~ Mark 9:23
- If you believe, say so. Agree with God’s Word and speak your agreement with God’s Word.
“Father, your Word says that Jesus’ stripes healed me.
Therefore, I believe I am healed according to Your Word.” ~ 1 Pet 2:24
- Speak to the condition. Command sickness out of your body. Command the sick part to be healed. In the Name of Jesus. ~ Mark 11:23
Keep in mind that while healing may occur instantly, most often it happens over time.
Faith in Christ is the victory that overcomes the world (and sin, sickness, poverty, lack, etc.)
Five Declarations of Faith for Healing and Great Health
