4 Reasons Real Faith Always Triumphs
by Capazin Thornton
The triumph of real faith can be seen at every turn – when you believe and have confidence in the integrity and power of God and His Word over everything you see, hear, or experience.
To begin with, Hebrews 11:1 describes faith like this:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
The word substance is translated from hupostasis, which literally means that which stands under as a support or foundation. Hupostasis speaks of the ground on which one builds a hope. It also implies confidence and assurance.
Faith then can be described as confidence or assurance that supports things hoped for, expected, or anticipated in the future.
Faith is the evidence of things not seen or perceived by the senses. Weymouth translates this verse:
Now faith is a well-ground assurance of that for which we hope, and a conviction of the reality of things which we do not see.
Thus, the believer is convinced of the reality of things in the invisible realm—God, angels, the future, eternal life, etc.—because God has revealed them.
Real Faith Always Triumphs
Real faith is laying hold to, receiving, believing, and acting on what God has said and done and yet promises to do. Genuine faith always triumphs when you believe (1) God is faithful; (2) with God, nothing will be impossible; (3) all things are already yours; and (4) Christ is your victory.
God is faithful
God who promises is faithful. Therefore:
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. (Prov 3:5)
With God, nothing will be impossible
The word impossible means that which seems incapable of being done, undertaken or experienced. God’s Word promises that with God, nothing will be impossible.
Believe this is your season for new, hope-filled, miraculous possibilities.
All things are already yours
So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours. (1 Cor 3:21-22, NIV)
You have the true riches. Men did not give them to you. Do not let men cause you to doubt. Christ is higher than, and His kingdom to be desired more than, all the nations and riches of this world.
As it is written, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Cor 1:9, ISV)
Christ is your victory
Stop striving to be victorious in life. You already have success in, by, and through Christ! You simply need to lay hold to it, and own it.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 15:57)

So, my friends, keep the faith. Shine light and truth. And remember:
The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. (Prov 4:18)
And whatever God calls you to do, do it with joy and enthusiasm. You will triumph through faith.

As usual, a very uplifting post. The word “substance” has such a powerful meaning here. I always sailed past that word in previous readings of this verse. But it really has significance here. As I was reading your post, my own faith was increasing. Thank you Cappi!!
Thank you, Jorgy. The Word really works! And faith comes by hearing, and hearing, and hearing the Word. Best to you.
